If you are interested in participating in our program as a Catechist or other volunteer, you are in the right place!  Now, more than ever, we depend on people like you help us pass on our faith to the children of Saint Bernard’s Parish. 

All Catechist applicants new to our program will be asked to come in for an interview and orientation before classes begin and may be required to engage in workshops throughout the year.    

Catechists and any volunteer that works with children, at our parish must: 

• Attend Child Protection Training (VIRTUS),  which is required by the Diocese.  Please see information about this by clicking the link VIRTUS

In addition catechists must also :

• Be available to attend classes for which they are assigned.  Our Schedule of Classes is listed below. All classes are one hour.

• Take attendance during each class period.

• Be a good example of living our faith and belonging to the church community by participating in the Eucharist each weekend.

• Enjoy their time with our children.  Be happy.  Be willing to explore our faith in an engaging way.
